A biography of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs has hit the bestseller charts on Amazon even though it won't be released until March of next year.

"iSteve: The Book of Jobs" was number 26 on the Amazon bestseller list on Tuesday on the strength of pre-orders of the book, which is being written by former Time magazine managing editor Walter Isaacson.

Amazon is offering a hardcover edition of the book for $18, down from the list price of $30.

The book, the first authorized biography of the technology visionary behind the , the iPod, the and iPad, is to be released on March 6, 2012.

Isaacson, chief executive of the Aspen Institute think-tank, has also penned biographies of Benjamin Franklin, and Henry Kissinger.
