The Tokyo International Film Festival will have a section solely devoted to Internet films this year, organizers announced Thursday.

The festival kicks off its weeklong 18th annual meeting Oct.22, and 10 broadband-compatible films will be shown among the 296 works that entered this year's contest, the festival organizers said in a news release.

There are plans to make the broadband films accessible on the Internet as well once the festival gets under way, the organizers said.
