Nigeria's first city-wide wireless network is scheduled for launch this week in Abuja.

Suburban Broadband Ltd., and the country's Federal Capital Territory Authority expect the low-cost service to begin on Wednesday.

According to a report in The Independent, Suburban holds 80 percent of the project with the authority covering the other 20 percent.

The project is based on a single integrated infrastructure offering seamless service for multiple mobile applications.
