Vodafone launched Thursday a datacard that allows users to go online from their laptops while traveling in the United States.

The British mobile-phone group, together with New York's Verizon Wireless, will be offering datacards that make use of Verizon's evolution-data optimized network that is currently the largest national wireless high-speed broadband network available in the United States.

Charges on datacard for roaming connection will be made to the customer's Vodafone account, which will have the same roaming rate as offered by the local Vodafone operator, the company said in a news release.
