Verizon signed agreements Monday with The America Channel, Blackbelt TV, Expo TV, LIME and the Pentagon Channel for content for its own television network.

Verizon's FiOS TV will be carrying the five channels when it starts broadcasting later this year, the New York-based company said.

"These specialty channels add to the robustness of our channel lineup," Terry Denson, vice president of programming for FiOS TV, said in a news release. The network has already signed agreements with several other content providers including NBC Universal Cable, Starz Entertainment Group, A&E Television and Discovery Networks.

The company added that it was "close to finalizing agreements with several other major content-partners."

Financial details of the latest agreements were not disclosed.
