Iran tests first domestically made nuclear fuel rod

January 1, 2012

Iran said on Sunday that its scientists have "tested the first nuclear fuel rod produced from uranium ore deposits inside the country," the website of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organisation said.

"After going through physical checks, it was inserted into the core of the Tehran research reactor in order to study how well it works," the website added.

Iran said last month that it planned to insert domestically produced into the Tehran research reactor, which produces isotopes for medical purposes and currently runs on a nearly depleted stock of nuclear plates bought from Argentina in 1993.

The Tehran reactor requires uranium enriched to 20 percent, a far higher level than that needed for Iran's Russian-built in Bushehr, on the Gulf coast, which uses Russian fuel that is returned when spent.

The atomic energy organisation did not specify the level of enrichment of the trial fuel rod but Iran's programme to enrich uranium to the higher level has been at the centre of growing Western concerns about the goals of its nuclear programme.

Western governments have expressed fears that Iran's real aim is to develop a capability to enrich uranium to the 90 percent level necessary for a , an ambition Tehran strongly denies.

Uranium enriched to 20 percent level is normally manufactured into plate, not rod, form for use as fuel.

Western governments nations have expressed scepticism that Iran has the technology to produce plates.

Iran already faces four sets of UN sanctions and additional unilateral Western sanctions imposed over its refusal to heed repeated ultimatums to suspend its programme.

Ther announcement of the fuel rod test came a day after US President signed into law tough new sanctions targeting Iran's central bank and financial sector.

They are the ones who attack sovereign countries when those countries pose an existential threat to world peace. Somebodys got to do it.
Truly an impressive nation when they can do this while their scientists are being murdered in the streets by the terrorist nations of Israel and the United States.
And soon I suppose canadas youth will be dying in yet another senseless war made necessary by a religionist cultures selfish desire to reproduce beyond its ability to support itself... and find it must attack its neighbors in order to do so.

VD so sorry your poseur status leaves you so naive.

Who We Are:

"Jan. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum said he would use air strikes against Iran unless the country dismantled its nuclear program or allowed inspectors to verify that the work isn't aimed at making a weapon."

What We Do:

"I would be saying to the Iranis, you either open up those facilities, you begin to dismantle them and make them available to inspectors, or we will degrade those facilities through air strikes," Santorum said on NBCs "Meet the Press" program today. "Iran will not get a nuclear weapon under my watch."

Otto, historically Muslims have been very tolerant in their conquests. Jihadists may be different, but say for the sake of argument that they succeeded in taking over most of the world, establishing a caliphate, etc; upon reaching such success I doubt they'd be able to keep up the furor long enough to do the "convert or die" bs. That's largely a Christian desire which is projected onto Muslims.

Muslims have controlled most of the civilized world in the past and they were very tolerant comparatively.

Most of American citizens are far more moderate and peace loving than the extreme views presented in this thread. Anyone supporting the American Nazi's (a bunch of really insane people) or those on the extreme left (same description applies) are the exceptions to the average American citizen. Our biggest problem is how money has corrupted congress, which no longer represents their constituents. For example: around 65 percent favor gun control, yet the NRA prevents it. 65 percent favor increasing taxes on the rich, yet the GOP continually block such measures (even though 61 percent of republicans favor that!). I could go on...Muslims are welcome here, so are Catholics, Buddhists, and so on. What is not welcome are people claiming they speak for all Americans and then want to exclude some group because of bigotry, racism, or whatever. Anyone seeking to install a religious dictatorship in the US will have a fight on their hands. The Constitution prohibits it, and that is not going

The contortions that you go to in the attempt to pin that tiered charge on me is telling in itself.
The term neoconservative as applied to Noumenon was coined by socialist Michael Harrington as a derisive term for leftists and liberals who were migrating rightward. Many of the first generation neoconservatives were originally liberal Democrats, or even socialists and Marxists, often Trotskyites. Most originated in New York, and most were Zionists. They drifted to the right in the 1960s and 1970s as the Democratic Party moved to the anti-war McGovernite left.

The Zionist nature of the neoconservatives is quite obvious. Those individuals who became neoconservatives were perceptive enough to see that in the 1960s liberals and the left were identifying with issues group quotas, anti-fascism and Third World causes that were apt to be harmful to the collective interest of Israeli expansionism.
kochevnik
3.7 / 5 (18) Jan 01, 2012
Gal Beckerman writes that it is a fact that as a political philosophy, neoconservatism was born among the children of Jewish immigrants and is now largely the intellectual domain of those immigrants grandchildren. In fact, Beckerman maintains that If there is an intellectual movement in America to whose invention Jews can lay sole claim, neoconservatism is it.

It only makes sense that the treacherous right, historically originating from the Tories who fought with England against the American patriots, would align themselves with a subversive allegiance to Israel over American interests. They are historically consistent.

Yet Americans are brainwashed to think that those few neocons, if they do exist, could not possibly be strong enough to inuence American foreign policy. Rather they are told the war sprung from the fertile minds of Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and even George W. Bush, as totally impossible as the latter case could be.

heheheheheh. . . .I see Frank the Crank is still up to his old tricks. . .nothing ever stops that old troll from his daily rounds of stupidity. He can't even leave new people alone. FYI. . .NamVet was never in the jungle like I was. . .he flew F-14s while you were hiding YOUR fat ass back in the USA, Frank the Crank.
Uh F14s weren't used in that war you stupid ballerina.
. . .I get a new name and have to wait 60 minutes on the first day. I didn't know this was gonna happen.
So in other words you're not namvet but 'he' was the one who asked about the 60 minute delay in the other thread, and then forgot and posted 2 comments within 15 minutes.

This is documentary evidence of just how stupid (or impaired) you are. I suggest studying this evidence and learning from it. When you dry out that is. Hard to belance on your tippy toes when you're snockered I bet. You lying flooding satanic law enforcing gook-killing ET-loving wetbrain woman you.

You should have looked a little harder little ballerina:

"The F-14 entered service in September 1974 with VF-1 Wolfpack and VF-2
Bounty Hunters. Those squadrons flying off the USS Enterprise flew CAP
over Saigon during the evacuation in April 1975. Aside from that the
Tomcat did not participate in the Vietnam war."

-I find it hard to lie because I realize how hard it would be to maintain a lie, especially in a community such as this. But for genuinely stupid people this is not a problem as it rarely occurs to them.

Compounding this problem is the unfortunate predicament of some women who developed the affliction of compulsive lying and found it relatively easy because, within the social circles they existed, what they looked like was far more important than what they had to say. And so their lying was tolerated.

We have witnessed recently the tragic results of this:

The affliction compounds itself as the sufferers age and their faculties, along with their physical appeal, begin to wane. They are still compelled to LIE but, as they never had to develop the skills needed to do so effectively, their artifice becomes harder to maintain.

Their lies become more desperate and transparent. Their pathology often leads to ruined relationships as friends and loved ones can no longer stand to be around them. Their lives become empty and their behavior becomes bizarre. Theiir self-deception causes them to concoct elaborate (for them) fantasy worlds wherein glassy-headed aliens for instance might one day come to rescue them from their self-imposed prison of lies and misery.

RitchieGuy,

Didn't you mean to write "Canada" rather than "USA"? :)

Personally, although I think that Iran still has a long way to go so far as nuclear tech goes, they now have the necessary ICBM tech that is a precursor to what they need to reach us.

I am all for them in harnessing nuclear power for peaceful purposes, but historically they have been worrisome in the region. So, on the other hand, I can see why people around them are worried and why it is that both Israel and the US are also concerned. Iran has stated that they want to wipe Israel off the map and wishes death to America on a pretty regular basis.

Now, I also realize that the US has gotten herself involved in Iranian affairs and angered them over that Shah business, but wishing death on people is a very un-Islamic thing to do, too.

See some of the Ahadith for the reasons why that is.

OK everyone. There seems to be a lot of sockpuppets on this board, and a lot of foul language.

Who agrees that those who use sockpuppets to raise or lower scores are scum buckets? Who agrees not to call other people names? Who agrees to keep comments appropriate for all ages?

The Tehran reactor requires uranium enriched to 20 percent
The level of uranium enrichment in strictly industrial reactors doesn't exceed few percent. This is just a hidden cost of nuclear energy - it enables the unstable theocratic regimes to develop nuclear weapons nearly legally. Only replacement of fission with cold fusion and strict global monitoring of nuclear reactors with neutrino telescopes can prohibit it for future.

There is so much hatred in this thread it's no wonder nations have wars. I won't bother adding my insight to this bickering... If we could all realize everyone is a person, a human too, maybe we wouldn't be living in such shit-hole circumstances.

There isn't a nation on earth that doesn't have the "right" to develop nuclear weapons. All nations are sovereign, and it is only through treaty that they tie their own hands.
Apparently international treaties doesn't work in the same way. They're based on restrictions, which are applied collectively. It's much cheaper to nuke out irresponsible regimes in preventive attack of united forces, than to suffer with war years later.

Do you realize, if allied forces would destroy Nazi regime in 1938, it would save lives of millions of people, not to say about resources wasted in WWW II?

..if we could all realize everyone is a person, a human too..
This realization has two sides. People, their regimes the more aren't good or evil by their very nature - they're both. Every philosophy which considers only one part of humanity is dedicated to intrinsic failure.
Look, my country is relatively rich one, our GDP per person is much higher than this one of Iranian and we simply have no reason to enrich uranium up to 20 percent. We don't need to develop nuclear weapons for anything to become and stay rich. We even don't need the nuclear weapons for intimidation. The people develop the weapons from the only reason: to use them. The only way, how to prohibit the wars is not to allow the people to make the weapons. If we allow the weapons for criminal regimes, then we must allow them even for those democratic one, and this is simply the way to the hell. The government driven with religious fundamentalists should suffer with consequences, if he escalates the arms race.

I take it you're referring to the US: the only nation to actually USE their nuclear weapons.

The government driven with religious fundamentalists should suffer with consequences, if he escalates the arms race.
So are you calling on leading Islamic nations like Iran to disarm the christopathic USA? Or will Russia and China ultimately have to step in?

Yup. . .to reiterate
Like I said already:
""Uh. . .F-14s started getting used in 1974
But not in VietNam towards the end of the war, GhostofA$$hole. AT the end, to assist in the pullout.

But obviously, thats not what you had in mind when you made up the story and didnt know enough about F-4s and F-14s to know the difference. You stinking liar.

Yes Richie, another indication is that the turbans come right off, ....so they're not intrinsic a race. It doesn't matter, though, when you speak with perpetual victims and/or race baiters like FH, you can't win.

Ghost. . .the man was in the U.S. Navy. He flew F-14s and other aircraft as a Navy officer. Neither you nor I have any idea when, where and why he flew planes in the Navy. He only told me that he flew F-14sd, so I knew by that that he was not drafted into the army. I have accepted it, now why can't you?
Funny he would defend this to you and not in public, to his detractors isnt it? That he would want YOU to be his advocate instead of the F-14 pilot speaking for HIMSELF?

You are REALLY not very good at this.

Why would he want to argue with you and FrankHerbert$hit as to why he was being called "Pirouette" and everything else you said. The man tracked down the name Pirouette and sent me his PM. He sent it to me and blah
So lets see, to recap: NamVet666, a law enforcement officer who still likes using 666 in his nick, tells the ballerina ritchieguy and not his accusers that he indeed flew F-14s in VietNam [sic].

He calls himself a VietNam [sic] veteran even though we assume the bulk of his service was not in the closing days of that war, flying CAS (close air support) for evacuating remnants.

This is all conveyed to us 2nd hand by pirouette who has exhibited a consistant pattern of outrageous fabrications (leaving poor frank in the bush?) in response to expected derision from fellow posters.

Just who might the schizoid persona be here? The ufo glass-headed alien visionary with the imaginary boyfriend perhaps?

What you are trying to do, is salvage one of your lying bullshit stories. It's not working. Why don't you just make up a new one? It would be more effective if you told it as namvet666. Or try a new sockpuppet like TuffGuy_Im_Not_a_Woman_SoStopIntimidating _MeOr_Ill_KickYorAss. You transparent ignoramus ballerina.

Truthers, UFO nuts, and conspiracy theorists of nearly every type:

Please tell me exactly how your "theories" have improved your life. I simply do not understand how a person could devote so much free time to such a futile endeavor. Oh, it's for truth justice and prosperity? Then why are you typing on a computer and not actually doing something productive? Gotta get the word out? The internet has been here long enough. Everyone has been exposed to your ideas and we have dismissed them appropriately.

You are losers of the most pathetic variety. If you really wanted a better world, you'd actually fight for it, you lazy cowards.

- Unashamed OIF Veteran (I don't agree with the justification of that operation or preemption, but at least I fight for what I think is right at the time)
