AT&T and union continue negotiating
(AP) -- AT&T and its largest union are continuing negotiations after contracts covering tens of thousands of workers expired this weekend.
As is usual during negotiations, the Communications Workers of America says striking is an option, but for now, its members are continuing to report to work.
Union spokeswoman Candice Johnson confirms Monday that talks are continuing.
Five contracts that expired Saturday cover between 80,500 and 90,000 workers in AT&T Inc.'s wireline business, according to company and union estimates.
AT&T says a strike won't disrupt phone service.
