Universal Health Services makes $335M UK purchase

(AP)—Hospital operator Universal Health Services said Friday it acquired Cygnet Health Care of the U.K. for $335 million.

Cygnet runs 15 hospitals and two , and UHS said it reported $161 million in revenue over the last year. Universal Health Services Inc. had $7.28 billion in net revenue in 2013.

Universal Health Services runs 195 behavioral health facilities, 25 acute care hospitals, and three surgical centers in 37 states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Shares of the King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, company rose 7 cents to $111.80 in morning trading.
