Documents show how White House defended Clinton

October 11, 2014 by Ken Thomas

The White House made a public push to defend President Bill Clinton during a series of investigations related to his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky and other matters, according to thousands of pages of documents released by the National Archives. The papers did not appear to reveal any new information that might affect a potential Hillary Rodham Clinton presidential campaign in 2016.

The documents, part of 10,000 pages of records from the Clinton administration released Friday, focused on a number of painful chapters in the former first lady's time in the White House and described how the president's aides sought to defend her husband against impeachment.

The possibility of a has heightened interest in the documents by media organizations, political opposition researchers and historians.

Many records involving Lewinsky are redacted. Behind the scenes, Clinton officials were adamant that they were not trying to discredit her.

"There is no evidence whatsoever that the White House was directing or involved in any campaign against her," Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthal wrote in a January 1999 memo.

But the case caused political tensions. An aide notes in one document that one Democratic governor explained "why he felt he needed to distance himself" from Clinton.

The papers also touch on the Whitewater investigation into Bill and Hillary Clinton's land dealings in Arkansas and the pardons Bill Clinton granted in his final hours as president.

The Clintons were never implicated in the Whitewater case, but their real estate partners, Jim and Susan McDougal, were convicted in a trial that also resulted in the conviction of then-Arkansas governor.

The documents touch on financier Marc Rich, who was indicted on fraud and other charges in 1983. He fled to Switzerland and was later pardoned on Clinton's last day in office. Jack Quinn, who had left his role as White House counsel by then, suggests in a handwritten note that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak discussed a pardon directly with Clinton.

With these documents, the National Archives will have released about 30,000 pages of papers since February. Both the Obama White House and the Clinton Presidential Library in Arkansas signed off on their release.

Past installments of the have offered an unvarnished look at Clinton's two terms, including the shaping of his wife's public image.

Hillary Clinton's influence in the White House is explored in this latest installment, from her role in Clinton's unsuccessful health care overhaul plan to her 2000 Senate campaign in New York. Bill Clinton left office in January 2001.

Hillary Clinton, who went on to serve as President Barack Obama's secretary of state, now is a powerful advocate for Democrats in the midterm elections in November and the leading Democratic prospect for president in 2016.

This is on Physorg because most likely Physorg is getting paid to do so, so Paid Progressive Government Tolls (PPGTs) can support Hillary Clinton, trivialize Bill Clinton's sexual attacks on women and attack George Bush.

Truth is, Democrats war on women and people of color is still in full swing. You need to ask, why do Democrats support the racist organization Planned Parenthood which is inordinately killing black children, support policies that make it harder for black people to get full time (or any) jobs, and vote for people who defend and promote sexual predators like Bill Clinton. Just remember Hillary knew what Bill Clinton did, yet attacked his sexual assault victims character.

We were assured there was absolutely nothing Clinton was guilty of! And, if he didn't do anything to be impeached over, it was completely unnecessary for him to be defended against impeachment? Were they lying? If they weren't lying, then these pages must all be fabrications. Remember, Liberals order us to believe, Democrats never lie, Democrats can't lie. And New World Order thugs insist it's impossible for conspiracies to exist.
And isn't it so telling, Sidney Blumental's observation that "There is no evidence whatsoever" of connivance. You almost can hear the follow up comment, "We made sure we burned it all." An honest person would say, would be able to say, "We engaged in no connivance"! But the craven and malignant can only go so far, God will strike them down with a million tons of meteorites if they tried. They must always provide clues, evidence of their criminality! It's their due diligence.

Obama doesn't lie either. Obama and the Democrats don't use the IRS against political enemies, and all the emails that mysteriously disapeared that show otherwise, weren't deleted, it's just all the computers hard drives failed and all the backups at the servers failed.

Oh and the Department of Justice, no way Obama and the Democrats would use it to go after political enemies. The reporters the DOJ targeted were just bad people as they were investigating pure as the driven snow democrats.

We could defend that Obama and the democrats wouldn't use other government agencies against political enemies even though evidence is overwhelming.... how do we know this, as the DOJ which is involved in scandals won't investigate.

Put it simply, anyone who votes for any democrat this next election is voting for corruption.

I wonder if the Paid Progressive Government Trolls (PPGTs) have been told not to post comments on this article..... It looks like they have been commanded only to vote people down...

I knew there was a fight between the Democrats Who Defend sexual assult Hillary camp and the Democrats Corruption loving Obama camp....

Here is a public service announcement....... Anyone who votes Democrat this election, is voting to support corruption.
