In Brief: Northrop finalizes $2B Virginia IT pact

An IT infrastructure contract valued at $2 billion has been finalized by Northrop Grumman and the state of Virginia.

The 10-year pact supports a major IT overhaul by the commonwealth's Virginia Information Technologies Agency that involves 91 separate state agencies.

"Northrop Grumman and VITA have created a true partnership and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with the VITA professionals," said Hugh Taylor, president of Northrop Grumman IT's Commercial, State and Local Group. "Together, we will provide the commonwealth with improved information technology resources and services."

Northrop is one of Virginia's largest non-retail employers with nearly 32,000 workers and has provided IT services to several Virginia municipal governments.
