Panasonic Unveils Slick Blu-ray Player
Panasonic's latest Blu-ray player, the DMP-BD10A, comes with big sound and bang-up movies
Panasonic plans to feed HDTVs' ever-growing need for hi-def content with its new consumer Blu-ray player. Launched today and available immediately, the DMP-BD10A lists for $599.95 and will play high-definition Blu-ray discs as well as standard-definition DVD media, which it will automatically upscale to 1080p video through its HDMI port. The device also accepts old-school audio CDs.
Perhaps the best feature of this brand-new player is its support of dts-HD High Resolution Audio along with Dolby True HD for 7.1-channel surround sound. Hopefully you'll have extra room in your living room for all those speakers.
Also nice is that the player comes with five Blu-ray movie titles promising to jump-start your hi-def DVD collection. Bundled movies include the first two Pirates of the Caribbean titles, along with Transporter, Fantastic 4, and Crash.
