As a country emerging from decades of mismanagement and repressive rule, Cambodia faces a challenge in feeding its expanding population. A Virginia Tech-managed program is making a difference in the south Asian nation with the introduction of an agricultural practice known as conservation agriculture.
This two-minute news video shows how the three practices of conservation agriculture—minimal tilling, maintaining a year-round soil cover, and rotating crops—allow farmers to achieve sustainable increases in production.
The program, the Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resource Management Innovation Lab, is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development and managed by the Office of International Research, Education, and Development at Virginia Tech.
