Communication experts from 17 European research infrastructures have pooled their experience to build a communication toolkit for research infrastructures. The toolkit provides a set of tools and guidelines to improve and harmonize the communication of research infrastructures, and is available now.

The Communication Toolkit for European Research Infrastructures provides an easy and useful set of tools, guidelines and resources to improve the strategy and activities of research infrastructures. Its common use is expected to increase the individual and collective visibility of research infrastructures, by aligning key messages and improving how different stakeholders perceive them.

Led by Centro de Ciências do Mar (CCMAR) and the European Marine Biological Research Centre (EMBRC) under the EU-funded project RI-VIS, the development of this toolkit included 31 communication experts representing 17 research infrastructures to ensure that it provides solutions adapted to the specific needs and capacity of European research infrastructures.

This challenges both managers and communication experts to rethink how they communicate their organizations. It is a first step to harmonize communications, yet its true success depends on its common use by research infrastructures across Europe.

If you work in the communication of research infrastructures, feel free to join our new community of experts on Slack that are gathering for more initiatives, training and joint activities.
