Two-thirds of parents in Britain are worried that their children will become the victim of online bullying, see violent or pornographic images or have their digital identity stolen online.

A survey found that 66 percent thought it was 'likely' or 'very likely' that their children would be exposed to these online harms, a higher proportion than in other European countries.

Professor Giuseppe Veltri, of the University of Trento, Italy, interviewed 6,400 with children aged 6-14 in eight countries—800 each in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Italy, Sweden and the UK.

He told the European Sociological Association conference in Manchester, UK, that in the eight countries on average 53 percent parents were concerned that their children were likely or very likely to suffer online bullying or other personal harms.

Parents from non-British countries, particularly the Netherlands and Sweden, were more concerned about that their would be persuaded to buy services and goods online such as products in virtual markets embedded in games, or otherwise manipulated as consumers.

Professor Veltri found that British parents were less concerned than average about this, with only 30 percent consider these threats likely or very likely.

Perhaps it might be best for parents both in UK and US to prevent their children from accessing the internet during the times when the kids should be studying and doing their homework, and only allowed to access the internet when the parents themselves are on at the same time. In this way, the parents can observe the bullying and take the proper steps to prevent it from happening.
It is also important for parents to boost their children's sense of importance and that they matter.

Really, SEU
In this way, the parents can observe the bullying and take the proper steps to prevent it from happening

Do our mummy and daddies watching over us as we pour over phys.org make any difference?
If it has SEU, don't hesitate to let us know when it does!

There are different types of parents; those who care enough and are forewarned, and those who don't give a damn what their kids are doing. You could call it negligence and abuse when parents aren't aware of what is happening on that screen in which their kids are taking part. Some humans are like that. Too self-involved to find out what is really going on. And then, when the kid goes crazy and opens fire in a building full of people, such parents wonder how it happened. Their kid was such an angel and never hurt anyone before.

It is easy to tell by reading the many insidious comments from some physorg commentators that they had a poor upbringing and have come to physorg to vent their hatred against humanity, while pretending that they care. That is why it is of utmost importance to not reveal any private information as some have done in the past in this site.
And whether you believe that Satan/Lucifer exists or not, I assure you that he is here on this Earth.

What is surprising about this interweb
SEU> It is easy to tell by reading the many insidious comments from some physorg commentators that they had a poor upbringing and have come to physorg to vent their hatred against humanity
while pretending that they care
That is why it is of utmost importance to not reveal any private information as some have done in the past in this site
And whether you believe that Satan/Lucifer exists or not
I assure you that he is here on this Earth

Take spotify, a music streaming service, knocks spots of all the competition and that's just the free version, yet it is surprising the amount of youngsters and over 21s of who haven't heard of it
Facebook, it almost seems by some as a competition to see who can with hold posting the longest
Then we have phys.org
Where I do believe Stephen Hawking did not know of its existence
If Stephen had been a regular participant
But then SEU, did Stephen's carers steer Stephen away from phys.org for this very reason?

Aug 23, 2019
Perhaps they did. But he was an independent soul, otherwise.
I think that Sir Stephen would have been appalled at the horrid language and egotistical oneupmanship that is characteristic of at least SOME of the commentators in physorg. He would've thought that in physorg, the inmates/mental patients had taken over the institution, even as physorg attempts with all its might to keep to science. LOL

As an aside, the vast majority of humans who read your comments have no problem with comprehending what you mean to say. It is only the few, like Otto, who find it disturbing that you comment in the language of the Shires. He is of no great consequence and will be dispatched forthwith, however long it takes. He is only human, after all, and has blackened his soul in the meantime. So do as you decide.

These ghostly confessionals

That you mention GhostlyOtto in this breath
for this ignoreth button was looming large
but Otto was to quick a mark to it
for Otto must be
sensitive lost and lonely soul in his confessional the other day
fore there were visions
of these gates of hell opening
when Otto's rath was unleashed
fore now, no one will never know
for Otto this vow of silence doeth he take
we need more of these ghostly confessionals
to see the light
on this
this phys.org

There goes another theory, SEU
SEU> Perhaps they did. But he was an independent soul, otherwise

Stephen never appeared on PW, SEU
As it was a safe environment for Stephen
So my original impression was on the right track
As now not only did he not know of phys.org, but also PW, he must have led a monastic lonely life

Downrated every comment in this thread. That was easy.

That would be CrazyOtto aka SpookyOtto aka theghostofotto1932

Yes. The full Nazi Otto hates competition of any sort and, most of all, hates to have anyone use logical arguments to refute anything that Otto has said or implied. After reading thousands of Otto's berserker diatribes against humanity and the authors of the bible, I have wondered how Otto had come to be such a mentally disturbed individual who attempts to have everyone believe that he is the mind behind the physorg admin and founding.
I tend to believe that Otto comes from a background where one of his immediate ancestors was one of those Nazi Germans who were allowed to emigrate into the US after World War 2 after Nazi Germany was defeated. All of Otto's virtual utterances indicates that he comes from a family of Nazi collaborators. And here he is, in the year 2019, still spewing his hatred of humans and religions, as though both are wearing on his mind without end.

So true. Online bullying will prep them for when they step out the door.

Aug 25, 2019
The truth is that there are bullies everywhere in the world. I remember the "teddy boys" in London who dressed up in the Edwardian fashion like they were going to a party. That was in the 1950s. They were not very tough, actually a bit foppish, but you didn't want to get in their way.

And here is something that goes far beyond online bullying:

This is correct, SEU

British parents more worried
their children will suffer online bullying than
those in other European countries

SEU> The truth is that there are bullies everywhere in the world

As phys.org
Correctly points out
This ultimate reality
