The first nine months of this year were the hottest on record worldwide, US government scientists said Wednesday, in another sign of the impact of dangerous global warming.

The latest report, based on global average temperatures across land and sea surfaces, brings 2015 closer than ever to ousting 2014 for the most scorching year in modern times.

Last month marked the "highest September temperature in the 1880-2015 record, surpassing the previous record set last year," the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said in its monthly report.

"The first nine months of the year were also record warm."

So far this year, the temperature across global land and ocean surfaces has been 1.53 Fahrenheit (0.85 Celsius) above the 20th century average, marking "the highest for January-September" in 135 years.

Seven of the first nine months of 2015 have broken monthly historical heat records.

Unusually high temperatures were seen in September across northeastern Africa, the Middle East, parts of Southeast Asia, and selected parts of North and South America.

Some cool spots were noted at the tip of South America, far western Canada, Alaska, and parts of Central Asia.

In Canada, Ontario had a record warm September, with temperatures some nine degrees Fahrenheit above average.

The United States marked its second warmest September on record, with a temperature 3.7 degrees Fahrenheit above the 20th century average.

Norway was also among the leading heat record-breakers, while Spain saw its coldest September since 1996.

Britain was also cooler than expected.

"England and Wales each observed their coolest September since 1994," said the NOAA report.

Warmer ocean temperatures associated with El Nino in some parts of the world helped boost the September global sea surface temperature to 1.46 Fahrenheit above the 20th century average of 61.1 Fahrenheit.

"A large patch in the Atlantic Ocean south of Greenland remained much cooler than average," the NOAA noted.

The amount of sea ice in the Arctic last month was the fourth smallest on record.

Sea ice cover in the Antarctic was also below average for the 1981-2010 time period, marking the 16th smallest Antarctic sea ice extent on record and the smallest since 2008.

Wow. It looks like everybody is in on the "climate fraud".

Even the climate.

September 2015: Earth's Warmest Month in Recorded History, Says NOAA

September 2015 had the largest departure of temperature from average of any month among all 1629 months in the record that began in January 1880, said NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) on Wednesday.

a conspiracy so insidious, even the Arctic is in on it

Climate change was faked by the Apollo astronauts when they went to the moon. The picture at the top of the article was taken on the lunar surface. You can tell because there's no water and the sun is shining at the same angle as the pyramids are built towards Sirius.

Hydrolunarlogically uninformed seance dolts can't challenge my truthageddonspeak.

But seriously, we just got our first frost out here, an entire month late.

Californians have been over-irrigating crops and over-watering lawns for generations.

It si no surprise that lakes would dry up. They have in the past and they will continue to do so.

That has nothing to do with CO2 or Methane.

Don't worry deniers. Your polar bears will be fine. Sorry that's a teddy bear (the fake stuffed kind). They won't die of heat exhaustion unlike polar bears. To the deniers; Methane, CO2, what the hell is the difference. You don't care. You deniers don't give a crap about anything. Karma will eventually put the deniers on the correct tract.

It also has nothing to do with drought. For a guy who lauds himself on his natural science knowledge, you don't know a lot of the basics do you?

Why is it that articles refuting global warming and disputing these stats are never given space at this site? The very fact that only one side of the debate is presented here gives one pause as to the objectivity of the site.

There are no credible articles refuting global warning.

It's not a debate. Its' science. This is a science site. Why do people miss this obvious fact?

Why are you so hung up on Al Gore? He's just one guy with no relevance outside the United States and has nothing to do with the science.

Oh... no one tell Howshat, that's his man crush, Al's place.

Man crush? How do you make that out? Howhot never mentions him. It's you who seems to have an unhealthy obsession.

Droughts have been happening since before man discovered fire.

A couple really, really bad ones are recorded in the Bible, which are believed to be about 3600 years ago, one of which lasted for 7 years.

I am wondering whether you blame that one on AGW or not? It makes the california drought look like a square dance.

I have a plan for saving Polar Bears:

Move them to the other...pole...they have sea lions and fish and whales there too, and they have a new prey specimen: The Penguin.

It has been some time since Penguins had any new "evolutionary pressure". We could put Darwins theory to test and see how they "evolve" to survive.

Also brings some Arctic Hares down there too, because the Polar Bears need some alternative prey as well.

No, science is when you study something obectively, which you guys haven't done in a long time.

I told you fools why the ice is melting, and you didn't believe me.

The accelerated melt is caused by albedo feedback from previous melting, going back to the end of the last ice age. This has been going on for a very, very long time, with a "hiatus" here and there, such as the Little Ice Age.

Returners. You're confusing objective with subjective.

An objective method is doing things with numbers and describing what methods you used to come up with the numbers. The idea is that everyone can look at it your methods and numbers and check them without the original scientists being in the mix.

A subjective method (which is what you have been doing exclusively) is just saying "it's like this: believe me". That's not science. That's just self-delusions.
