Three injured at Tesla factory in California

Tesla Motors says three employees have been injured after an aluminum casting press failed at its factory in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The company didn't disclose the extent of the injuries Wednesday at the Fremont factory. It says there was a failure in a low-pressure aluminum casting press, and the three workers were hurt by hot metal. It released no additional details.

Fire trucks were seen outside the factory in the afternoon. But Pam Franklin, a Fremont fire employee, said there was no fire at the plant, and the incident was being treated as an industrial accident.

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center spokeswoman Joy Alexiou says the hospital had received at least two of the employees. She didn't know their conditions.

Tesla has made headlines recently over fires involving its Model S electric car.
