Canon launches takeover bid for Belgium's I.R.I.S.

Japanese camera maker Canon has launched a bid to acquire Belgian firm I.R.I.S., which specialises in electronic management of documents, Belgium's stock market regulator FSMA said Tuesday.

The Japanese group is offering the Belgian company 44.40 euros per share.

The I.R.I.S. posted revenues of 121 million euros in 2011 and employs 500 people.
