(PhysOrg.com) -- Designers from The Play Coalition have developed a robotic planter for the home that moves toward the sunlight as the sun moves across the floor.

The chair-like robot has robotic wooden legs, giving the robot a natural look well-suited for a plant carrier. The robot can detect sunlight levels in the room, and when it finds the brightest spot it walks toward the light to provide the greatest sun exposure for the plant.

The Play Coalition describes the Plantbot as a "solar seeking botanical augmentation."

There is no mention of commercialization, but more information can be found at The Play Coalition.
