1,100-year-old artifact found in China
Cultural relic experts have discovered the top portion of an 1,100-year-old Buddhist artifact in the Henan Province of China.
The 24-centimeter thick artifact, inscribed with an incantation and inscriptions from Buddha, was located in Anle town in the Chinese province recently, reported the state-run news agency Xinhua.
The octahedral pyramid trunk fits with a top portion that was found in the same town in June, and has been dated back to the Tang Dynasty, which ended in 907.
The stone top will be reunited with the engraved pillar trunk, and then repaired and studied by experts before eventually revealed to the Chinese public, a local cultural relic bureau source told Xinhua.
