Motorola to allow easier Google access

Google, the Internet search engine, is to cooperate with Motorola in the area of mobile phones.

Motorola and Google said they will work together to allow easier access to the Internet search engine on Motorola handsets.

Motorola said late Thursday it will integrate a Google icon onto devices so that users can connect to Google with one button. The customized handsets will be marketed within the next few months worldwide.

"Many of our customers have been asking for mobile devices integrated with their consumers' favorite online search services. By featuring Google on Motorola handsets for those customers, we are making it easier for consumers to connect to the information they need when they need it," Scott Durchslag, corporate vice president and general manager of global products for Motorola's mobile device business, said in a news release. "Our relationship with Google provides an opportunity for us to offer a high quality mobile search experience -- one familiar to and loved by millions of users across the globe," he added.
