Japan's biggest digital electronic and information-technology industry show kicked off Tuesday in Tokyo.

CEATEC Japan will showcase products from 788 companies both within and outside Japan, according to a news release from the organizers. On display are cellular phones, computers and other next-generation digital products.

The CEATEC secretariat said it expects the number of visitors over the five-day period to exceed 182,000, the record number of visitors from last year.
