Trend launches Vista security solution

A new security solution for the Windows Vista test beta 2 was launched this week by Trend Micro.

The Vista version of PC-cillin is available on Microsoft's Web site and will provide anti-virus and other protections for the new operating system, Trend said Wednesday.

Users will no doubt want a high degree of protection for Vista, which tech media is reporting will retail for a hefty $450 once released to the public.

In the meantime, PC Magazine said Wednesday that Microsoft had fitted the Vista beta 2 version with a feature called ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) that should help protect Vista against automated cyber-attacks.
