In Brief: Mobile viruses doubled since Nov. 05

The number of mobile viruses worldwide has doubled since last November, according to an IT consulting group.

Helsinki, Finland-based F-Secure said there are about 200 mobile viruses in cyberspace, compared to about 100 found in November 2005.

"Many of the virus samples received by the Lab are variants of already detected viruses. Also the latest virus analyzed by the Lab, StealWar.E, is a variant. Stealwar.E is a SIS file trojan that drops Commwarrior.A, Pbstealer.F and Cabir.A viruses into the device," F-Secure said.
