Briefs: XM adds 17 new programs to lineup

XM Satellite Radio added 10 new music channels and seven news channels to its lineup, including a program hosted by Oprah Winfrey.

The Oprah & Friends channel will start in September on a weekly basis with the talk-show diva and the editor-at-large of the Oprah Magazine, Gayle King.

"Our programming line-up demonstrates the depth and breadth of XM's industry-leading content portfolio," said Eric Logan, executive vice president of programming. "We continue to expand programming with our first-ever regional news and talk channels, innovative music formats, plus 10 new music channels that demonstrate XM's firm commitment to providing the most choice and most channels in satellite radio," he added.
