Briefs: Global software streamlines LAN functions

Global IP Telecommunications Wednesday launched software for local area networks it touted as paving the way for expanded broadband services.

Global's LANbot product allows automatic configurations of devices on LAN systems, which should make broadband and Voice over Internet Protocol more attractive to consumers.

"It is exciting to work on a solution that removes the greatest barrier for growth of internet technologies, into our homes and everyday lives." said Global's C.B. Roellgen.

The software automatically handles the task of interdependent computation of settings on LAN computers, routers and access points.
