Rich powers cut export aid for coal plants

Advanced economies including the United States, Japan and European Union have agreed for the first time to restrict state aid for exports of large, inefficient coal-fired power stations, the OECD announced Wednesday.

West coast log and lumber exports decreased in 2014

Log and lumber exports from Washington, Oregon, northern California, and Alaska both decreased in volume in 2014 compared to 2013, the U.S. Forest Service's Pacific Northwest Research Station reported today.
