Briefs: XM, Napster tie up in online music deal

Napster and XM Satellite radio said they will be launching an integrated music service.

The XM (plus) Napster online service will allow subscribers to the radio network to access, purchase and download music heard on XM.

The service "takes XM to a new level in terms of exposing people to music and enabling them to buy the music," Hugh Panero, chief executive of the radio group, said in a news release. "It takes the promotional impact of radio and puts it on steroids," he added.
