Trend rolls out 2006 PC-cillin edition

An update of its popular PC-cillin software is among the security solutions for 2006 unveiled Monday by Trend Micro.

The Silicon Valley security giant's Pc-cillin Internet Security 2006 includes enhanced protections against viruses, spam, spyware and phish as well as parental-control capabilities.

The package retails for around $50, with renewal and upgrades available for $25.

"Unfortunately, security threats are evolving and becoming more unpredictable, creating significant challenges for computer users at home," warned Trend's Lane Bess.

Trend also announced Monday that upgraded versions were available of its Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition for large and medium-sized companies and the three-component Worry Free Security solution for small businesses that have limited IT experience or capabilities.
