Archeology formulates and tests hypotheses about cultural processes, technological systems, subsistence strategies, social organization, and long-term human–environment interactions, integrating theoretical frameworks from anthropology, history, and related disciplines to reconstruct and interpret cultural sequences and transformations over time.
