Sunrise creates tester for VDSL networks

Sunrise Telecom has developed a test module that will help moved next-generation VDSL networks forward.

The device enables technicians to ensure the quality of VDSL (very high data rate digital subscriber line) equipment and installations outside the factory.

"It's extremely important for technicians to be able to validate the quality and capabilities of the line when delivering triple play services," said Sunrise's Cyrille Morelle. "Sunrise's MTT VDSL module performs high quality analyses that streamline the process."

A major benefit of the module is that it can identify glitches in copper loops that are found in a large number of homes that could potentially hamstring commercial VDSL deployments.
