Briefs: Meeting to consider nanotechnology impact

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says it will co-sponsor an April conference to examine the impact of nanotechnology on paper, pulp and wood products.

The conference, organized by the USDA's Forest Products Laboratory, recognizes nanotechnology might revolutionize forest products industries worldwide.

Officials said the meeting would focus on the global scientific and economic trends that are shaping future technologies and markets.

More than 100 scientists, business leaders, and representatives of government agencies from the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia are expected to attend the April 26-28 meeting in Atlanta.
