Briefs: Motorola, NTT DoCoMo tie up in downlink

Motorola and NTT DoCoMo said they have jointly developed a high-speed downlink packet access that can be used for WCDMA networks worldwide.

"NTT DoCoMo and other carriers worldwide will be able to utilize the latest technologies to offer new services and experiences. Motorola is committed to driving continued innovation and developments to deliver a seamless mobility experience to consumers," Bill Werner, senior vice president of mobile devices business at Motorola, said in a news release.

Under the new program, mobile networks will be able to access high-speed data applications even more quickly.
