Briefs: Sprint bolsters service for deaf

Sprint said Tuesday it will offer improved phone services for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.

The wireless carrier said its IP relay service will have a more user-friendly layout and faster connectivity, in addition to having a Spanish service. Sprint said that the service will also be extending its hours to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The IP relay is a free service that uses computers rather than handsets for communication.
