Coral gardening beckons ecotourists to restore reefs

Coral reefs are fragile and in danger worldwide, but a growing movement to restore them is based on the science of breaking off pieces in order to grow more, known as coral gardening.

Corals need more than warm water to grow

Ecologists from Massey University, the Australian Institute of Marine Science and the University of Queensland have debunked a commonly held belief that ocean warming will lead to coral reef expansion into temperate seas.
