The Apple rumor mill is churning especially early, with a report saying the company will hold an event in March to unveil the second-generation Apple Watch.

Tech blog 9to5Mac, citing unnamed sources, said the new watch could go on sale in April, about a year after the first Apple Watch was released.

"Apple has been working on (a) new camera, wireless, sleep tracking and health sensor technologies for the , but it is currently unclear which of these additions will appear on the model planned to be introduced in March," the said.

And in a break from its usual September date, Apple might also have some iPhone news to share. The blog said the Cupertino, Calif., is working on a 4-inch iPhone 6c that might debut at the March event.

Apple did not immediately return a request for comment.
