Anti-virus and information-security company McAfee announced Wednesday it would integrate a new system to keep unwanted users out of computer systems.

The Host Intrusion Prevention Solution 6.0 will prevent unregistered people from entering an organization's applications or databases, thereby guarding secret documents or processes in the organization, the company said in a statement.

The HIPS system "fully interfaces with McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator," the statement said. This application is a "coordinated, proactive defense against malicious threats and attacks for the enterprise," McAfee said on its Web site.

"The field of intrusion prevention has grown a lot in the past year, especially in Israel," said McAfee Israel regional manager Shmulik Entebbe via the statement.

"The HIPS 6.0 will definitely help us hold onto a leading chunk of the market, and even to expand. This system offers a comprehensive and time-saving solution," Entebbe said.
