Briefs: Microsoft lowers Xbox unit sales forecast

Microsoft expects sales of its Xbox video-game console to be lower than expected, the company's chief financial officer said.

In a conference call with analysts Thursday Chris Liddell said Microsoft has lowered its sales forecast of Xboxes in the first 90 days since its launch to 2.75 million units from the 3 million it had initially anticipated.

The company kept its sales forecast in dollar terms, however, expecting $1.5 billion from sales of the consoles as well as games and accessories related to the product.
