NEC Australia introduces thin mobile phone

NEC Australia Wednesday introduced a new 96-gram mobile phone it says is the thinnest clamshell model in the world.

The NEC N412i i-mode phone comes equipped with a mega-pixel camera and MP3 player despite a diminutive size of under 12 millimeters in depth when folded.

"NEC recognizes that style and content are keys to success in the ultra-competitive mobile market," said NEC's Kris Tsukuda. "The N412i represents the start of exciting things to come in design and content innovation from NEC mobiles."
