Microsemi amplifier aimed at LCD speakers

Microsemi Corp. has introduced a next-generation amplifier designed for liquid-crystal display television and other high-tech applications.

The Southern California company said Wednesday its LX1725 class-D amp provides sound reproduction up to 15 watts per channel and 30 watts on a single channel.

A news release from Microsemi hailed the device's low distortion and coverage of the 20 hertz-20K hertz bandwidth. Power requirements go down to 6 volts.

The amplifier is aimed at LCD televisions as well as CD/DVD players, computer-game devices and computer speakers.
