At a two-day workshop, the Institute of Medicine will use hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking," as a case example to evaluate the application of health impact assessments to identify and explore potential health consequences of emerging energy technologies.

The workshop will run from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EDT Monday, April 30, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT Tuesday, May 1, at House of Sweden, 2900 K St., N.W., Washington, D.C.
