Natural Products and Bioprospecting aims to serve as the international forum for essential research on all branches of natural products, including plant biochemistry, bioorganic and medicinal chemistry, biosynthesis and microbiological transformation, fermentation and plant tissue cultures and bioprospecting of natural products. The international editorial board, made up of renowned experts and scholars, guarantees the high academic standards of the articles and supports an expeditious manuscript-review process. The SpringerOpen model allows the journal's contents to be fully and immediately open access, available to anyone with an Internet connection.
Ji-Kai Liu, Chief Editor of NPAB, said, "We believe that natural products have great potential as a significant source for new drugs and new agrochemicals or lead compounds, and as tools for pathway screening and target identification. We will distribute high-quality research papers to the widest audience globally. With this challenge in mind, we launched Natural Products and Bioprospecting as an open access journal."
Lu Ye, Editorial Director China at Springer, said, "We are happy to further strengthen our long-time cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences by publishing this new SpringerOpen journal. With the commitment of both the editorial board and Springer, I am confident that NPAB will become one of the most important journals in its field in the years to come."
