Pager teams up w/ Weill Cornell Medicine to connect New Yorkers to world-class specialists

May 2nd, 2016

In an effort to connect more New Yorkers to Weill Cornell Medicine's world-class physicians, the institution and the innovative on-demand healthcare service Pager have joined forces to ensure that patients have expanded access to the most advanced and specialized care.

The collaboration will leverage Pager's mobile app and Weill Cornell Medicine's reputation for delivering the finest, compassionate care to connect more patients with the institution's primary care physicians and specialists. Weill Cornell Medicine will expand Pager users' access to quality, personalized healthcare from board-certified physicians and nurses representing more than 30 specialties and medical disciplines so that they can receive the right type of care at the right time.

Through the app, Pager's healthcare professionals will evaluate and triage prospective patients through live online chats and telemedicine to determine the most effective treatment plan, providing in-person visits at their homes or offices. When patients require more complex or specialty care, the Pager professional will engage the Weill Cornell Medicine's Physician Organization Referral Center to schedule appointments with primary care physicians and specialists. Patients needing hospitalization or complex procedures are then connected with NewYork-Presbyterian.

"We at Weill Cornell Medicine are deeply committed to connecting New Yorkers to our network of exceptional physicians, and our collaboration with Pager enables us to further realize that ambition," said Dr. Adam Stracher, director of the primary care division of Weill Cornell Medicine's Physician Organization and assistant dean of clinical affairs at the institution. "Pager expands our reach to the millennial generation who want to access healthcare differently and offers them an entry point into Weill Cornell Medicine's specialized and compassionate care."

"Pager is about leveraging great technology and world-class design to connect people with the right type of care at the right time, and to deliver that care as it is needed," said Gaspard de Dreuzy, the co-founder and CEO of Pager. "We are proud to collaborate with the renowned Weill Cornell Medicine team. Together, we will be able to expand upon our current scope, which services urgent care needs, and connect patients requiring attention from a specialist to a trusted provider at Weill Cornell Medicine."
