Heads-up display for $49 got 470% funded at Kickstarter

November 4th, 2015

HUDWAY Glass is a universal vehicle accessory turning a smartphone into a head-up display (HUD) for any car. It is currently LIVE on Kickstarter with the current pledge beyond $470K and over 6800 backers.

HUDWAY Glass makes a luxury car technology affordable to literally everyone at only $49 apiece, while alternative aftermarket solutions (like Navdy and Exploride) range from $300 to $500. Unlike its potential competitors, HUDWAY Glass contains no electronic components and requires no power to work—it directly mirrors the information from the smartphone screen. The versatile accessory is designed to fit any car dashboard, any smartphone, and any driver's height and position. The solution first introduced by HUDWAY, LLC at CeBIT 2015 in Hannover received a very positive feedback from potential customers, dealers and retailers, as well as from many major representatives of the automotive industry. To investigate the demand further we also created a Kickstarter campaign (visit kck.st/1jOt4J9 to find out more).

Comments by the CEO and Co-founder of HUDWAY, LLC: "We did it because we're tired of waiting for others. Because we believe that automotive HUDs are safer than an instrument-panel display or a smartphone. And because other solutions are either very expensive, or stuck in the midst of a long and complicated development process. This is the accessory we want, and we think you'll like it. It's simple and affordable. Discover a new way of using your phone while driving and not being distracted."

The team plans to start shipping Worldwide at the beginning of spring 2016.

HUDWAY LLC. started in 2013 with the release of HUDWAY app (available for iOS and Android), which has gained over 1M users worldwide. HUDWAY mobile app is specifically designed for navigation in low visibility—it assists like a co-pilot, reduces distraction, and turns a smartphone into a HUD. Hudway Glass allows you to use the app during the daytime.
