Two INRS professors named Fellows of the American Physical Society
Professors Roberto Morandotti and Federico Rosei of the INRS Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications Research Centre have been elected Fellows of the American Physical Society (APS). The prestigious recognition from their peers acknowledges both professors' outstanding contributions in physics.
The APS Fellowship, a great honour bestowed on a mere 0.5% of the society's members, recognizes the innovative research of Professor Morandotti in photonics and Professor Rosei in nanotechnology. Prior to the dual appointment, INRS faculty included a single APS Fellow, Professor Emeritus Tudor Wyatt Johnston.
The APS Division of Laser Science singled out Professor Morandotti's ground-breaking work in discrete systems and nonlinear optics in the terahertz regime, which places his work on the leading edge in the field of ultra-high speed communications. Professor Rosei's recognition in the Division of Materials Physics came for his world-renowned, pioneering research in advanced materials, specifically the physical properties of organic and inorganic compounds and molecular assembly.
Our sincere congratulations to both professors. INRS is proud to be home to elite international physics researchers.
