Silicon Valley's Covad Communications is offering broadband service of a sizzling 6.0 megabits per second and 768 kilobits per second for home-office use.

Covad said in a news release that its TeleSoho service is one of the most robust DSL connections available to U.S. home and small-business users and that demand for such products is booming.

"Covad responded with TeleSoho 6.0, a compelling combination of price and blazing fast performance," said Charles Hoffman, Covad's president and chief executive officer.

TeleSoho is available at $110 per month and can be self installed.

Once online, users have access to up to 15 e-mail boxes, a 56K dial-up number for travel purposes and capability to host another five IP addresses.
