Briefs: KVH produces smallest boat satellite TV

Satellite equipment maker KVH Industries said Thursday it has created the world's smallest stabilized marine satellite TV system.

The TracVision M3 could be used in boats as small as 25 feet, the company said in a news release.

The product is "powerful technology made simple," stated Ian Palmer, executive vice president of satellite sales. He pointed out that existing products have had antennas that were too big for vessels in the 25-to-40-foot range.

The system will be able to carry DIRECTV programming including XM Satellite Radio channels.
