Britain's Office of Communications reported that nearly three-fourths of all Britons watch digital television.

The digital TV report found that 18.2 million, or 72.5 percent, of British households watched digital television, compared to 69.5 percent at the end of 2005.

Ofcom said that digital terrestrial television took over traditional analog TV sets for the first time, while digital satellite was the most popular digital television platform in the country, viewed by 8.3 million households in the country. Of those, 7.7 million subscribe to BSkyB.

The number of cable subscribers, on the other hand, totaled about 3.3 million, Ofcom said.
