Firm's cable protection good up to 185 F

A new protection system has been introduced for cables used for connectivity in rough environments such as factories.

SYSTIMAX Solutions said late Wednesday its Ruggedized Connector System has a faceplate equipped with a robust gasket that prevents dust and moisture from getting inside a piece of connectivity equipment.

The system will stand up to temperatures ranging from 185 degrees Fahrenheit down to 13 below zero.

The product's ingress protection ratings are IP65 and IP67, which SYSTIMAX executives see as able to stand up to the rigors of a heavy manufacturing facility.

"We work with the world's top manufacturing and industrial companies who need to be confident that their connectivity solutions are protected from the everyday strain of industrial use," said product manager Joseph Storey. "The risks regularly include harsh temperatures and humidity along with exposure to water and dust particles."
