Taiwan Semiconductor's monthly revenues hit all-time high

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co said Monday its sales in April hit a record high of 32.7 billion Taiwan dollars (one billion US dollars).

TSMC, the world's biggest contract maker by revenue, said in a statement that the figure was up 50.3 percent from the previous year, or six percent over the previous month.

The company's revenues in the four months to April more than doubled to 121.86 billion Taiwan dollars, it said.

The statement did not say, and a spokesman declined to clarify, why sales were up last month.
