Briefs: Ericsson to provide eMobile network

Japanese third-generation mobile provider eMobile will be using Ericsson's WCDMA network, the Swedish group said Monday.

The network will allow newcomer eMobile to "aggressively enter the market with premium quality and high-speed mobile broadband access," Ericsson said in a news release.

The service will be available in some of the country's most densely populated areas including Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka.

"eMobile can now start addressing the challenge of drastically innovating the mobile market in Japan. We hope this partnership will be a big help to our business development," said eMobil Chief Executive Sachio Semmoto.
